Henry is a conventionally attractive man with a sharp face, dark skin and big dull eyes. He's commonly described as bug-eyed and finicky. His white (now dyed brown) hair has lost if not all it's curls and now sits flatly upon his head. The back is gelled up in an attempt to imitate volume, but it hasn't gone well. Two tall ears stand from his head. His tail is long and poorly shaved down. His usual attire consists of business-casual, almost always having a tie and blouse incorporated into it, regardless of occasion. One might presume this is all his closet has.
Henry is 5'11 and weighs 130 lb.
PLOT HOOKS
Friendly Stranger: Henry's the type of guy to be found anywhere. Smiling; willing; happy to lend a hand to anyone who asks and does so without too much inquiry (given that he's appropriately paid.) Either-way, he's quick to worm into anyone's social circle.Windows to the Soul: It's plain as day that the cat suffers from some manner of abberancy himself. He has the tell-tale eyes of an Eldertide Godborn, but his gaze seems to have lost it's divine shine. Furthermore, he's quick to disguise it should the moment arise .. but not always.
Unfriendly Receptionist: Henry .. also has another vocation as the Gatehead Clinic receptionist and book-keeper, watching the door and selling you your over-the-counter salves and medicine. He is, however, notably less high-strung while working this job.
Knave!: Henry regularly toured the realm for any casino whose cards he can get his hands on, since his card-counting, game-rigging shenanigans tend to get him kicked out the door and not to return. In fact, if you're a regular to any casino, chances are Henry cheated you too. You do want your money back, don't you?
Ten of Spades: Likewise, Henry has also spent a lot of his own money in casinos. the man gives anyone ample reason to go after him: maybe you gave him a loan and he never thought to pay it back, or maybe you're a casino itching to shake your money out of him like a piggy-bank. It's okay, he's used to it, not that he's going to pay you back or anything.Eyes Like Scopes: Amontaar residents might know of the Sulavey-speaking Feka Asha salesman. Henry doesn't take kindly to folk he sold appliances to, nor does he expect them to regard him too fondly. but if you've been in town long enough, you might know he wasn't always like this.
He sticks out like a sore thumb: That said, his type of crowd always seems to be eccentrics. This boring salesman tends to hover by abberants and never-do-wells.Stressed: Twist his arm and you can get him to do a myriad of things for you.
A Bad Person: He is, admittedly, loose with his morals. It comes with the job, really; he's a con-man, a cheat and liar. There's a better chance that he'd scam you than sell you a functional appliance. Of course, he's wary of the sort that wouldn't let him get away with it—but maybe he decided to take a chance with you.A Fake Person: He's capable of more than one service, too. Need some paperwork to go with that disguise? Maybe a fake ID, if you think that's helpful. This salesman can procure you with counterfeit badges and signatures not your own. He also doesn't pay taxes.Questionable Worship: Seldom is Henry ever seen worshiping, despite his frequent temple visiting. Given his Death Isldar roots, it's easy to guess he might follow the Glacial. However, after digging a little deeper into his extra-planar faith, he's found himself resonating lots with a deity less .. straightforward, he'd say.On that note, he's pretty familiar with the Ordial scene.Misery Loves Company: Stewards&Sons Co. is an average company that Henry 'proudly' sports the name of. best renown for it's plethora of household appliances and stockholders, it's where Henry's endless supply comes from. regardless of how little they pay and the arduous hours, Henry seems.. reluctant, to leave. they're just a normal company, aren't they?
Dead Cat Crossing: Behold! the freak-show is in town! Henry regularly regales the curious with the details of his curse; how the things he holds all rot away, how misfortune is always nipping at his heels, regardless of the effort he makes to avoid it. He's been cursed for so long he's developed a complex about it, what after seeing so many doctors and wizards and scholars for it. Despite this, he's always willing to cooperate with the magically adept to see what the root of his troubles are..
"You mean so much to m-me.. I thought.. I thought I killed you."
"I think all three of those could come true. One is, already."
"I wish it was like it was, all those months ago. When things were simple, and the three of us were happy. Were you happy, Henry? Or, perhaps, you've forgotten how to make friends."
"At least y'know you're not alone in that feeling."
...
"The joy of having you outweighs the burden."
"You claw your way out of that damn hole you put yourself in. Because if no one is going to help you, then you can either help yourself or die."
"Either they don't care— and you're sad— or they do care,
and you feel bad."
"I'll see you tomorrow."
"It doesn't matter if you do a kind thing for a selfish reason. You're still doing something that is kind."
"My dearest, if you are a 'monster,' then that word can no longer hold its negative connotation. Monster, human, any such terminology—that is secondary to you being Henry. You are still you. I do still love you."
You went somewhere.
".. No. I don't want anything else."
"If it gets that bad, then y'can call on one'a us to defend you. Simple."
...
"Have a little faith in me."
